“This is a real enhancement to what we offer our members.” Says Director of Policy Conor Faughnan. “Getting a first class job done on servicing the car now just means making a phone call to the AA. Everything else is taken care of. The service is available seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm, and our member’s feedback tells us that they are delighted with it.”
The AA will send a specially equipped servicing van with a trained technician to carry out a full service on a car wherever and whenever suits the member. The process becomes hassle free and extremely convenient. It comes with the peace of mind that the car is in the AA’s hands, and with prices from €179 it will even beat most garages on price.
“Getting the car serviced used to be a serious inconvenience as well as an expense.” Says Faughnan. “Taking the car to the garage and making the arrangements and then collecting afterwards for many people means taking a day off work, not to mention the fact that it can be stressful and worrying.”
With the facility available 12 hours a day 7 days a week, members can schedule services at weekends and of peak times. They are no longer stuck with garage opening hours that mostly coincide with their own working day.
A full service from AA includes an extensive range of checks that exceed most manufacturers’ service schedule requirements. The work comes with a full 12 month or 20,000 km warranty on parts and labour.
AA members tend to be responsible drivers and want to maintain their cars well. In an AA survey carried out last year, 95.9% of AA members reported that they serviced their car within the last 12 months. 57% paid over €200 to have the car serviced by a garage. The AA now offers car servicing at the home, workplace or any location that suits at a cost of €159 for Interim and €199 for Full Servicing.
Members are offered the AA’s expertise, a fully traceable service, flexibility, reassurance, minimal disruption, and it avoids inconveniences such as taxi, car hire and the burden of arranging lifts when using a garage. AA Service & Repair is initially available in the Greater Dublin Area.
