The Audi Q6 e-tron marks the start of a new generation of electrically powered vehicles at Audi. At the world premiere in March of this year, the brand with the four rings presented two variants of the new model: the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro, which offers typical Audi confident performance with a system output of 285 kW , and the sporty SQ6 e-tron with a system output including the additional function of 360 kW.
Advantages of the new Audi PPE (Premium Platform Electric)
For the next generation of electric vehicles from Audi commencing with the Audi Q6 e-tron range, the company has redeveloped the electric motors, the power electronics, the transmission, as well as the high-voltage battery and all related components, and tailored them exactly to the requirements of battery electric vehicles. The scalable and future-proof electronic architecture allows Audi to offer various vehicle models and derivatives on a standardised electronic basis. This approach reduces complexity in both development and production and creates additional economies of scale.
All powertrain components for the PPE are designed to be even more compact than the drive systems developed and installed previously, and they stand out due to higher efficiency. In total, the efficiency measures around the new electric motors for the PPE enables extra range compared to the first-generation Audi e-tron. In the area of production, the degree of automation and the vertical range of manufacture have increased significantly. The new electric motors for the PPE require about 30 percent less installation space than those of previous electric models. Their weight has been reduced by about 20 percent.
The PPE represents an important step for Audi in becoming a leading provider of sustainable premium mobility.
Efficient rear-wheel drive for the longest range in the Q6 e-tron portfolio The Audi Q6 e-tron performance model has a particularly efficient rear-wheel drive. A compact and powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM) provides a system output of 240 kW when the extra function is engaged and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. With up to 635 kilometers, according to WLTP, the Audi Q6 e-tron performance is one of the models with the longest range in its segment. These features make the Audi Q6 e-tron performance an attractive choice for customers who are not only looking for an extended electric range, dynamic performance, and suitability for everyday use but also for brief charging stops. Ensuring a high level of comfort even on long journeys, the Audi Q6 e-tron performance has up to 270* kilometers of rechargeable range in 10 minutes at a suitable fast charging station.
Entry into the Audi Q6 e-tron family The new, additional drive variant is the youngest member of the Audi Q6 e-tron family. It has the longest range within the model portfolio and represents the entry-level price. The Audi Q6 SUV e-tron performance* can now be ordered from EUR 81,000. Delivery is planned for the third quarter of this year. Deliveries of the Audi Q6 e-tron quattro* and Audi SQ6 e-tron* variants to customers are already scheduled to begin later this summer.
