The Pale Moon will rise this weekend over the Kingdom as the Rose of Tralee International Festival takes place until Tuesday 20th August. Highlights of the festival will include the Rose Ball on Friday and the Roses on Parade event on Saturday at 8:30pm. A number of road closures will be in place over the weekend and delays are expected.
Then it’s off to the royal county on Saturday as the Real Slim Shady takes to the stage to Headline at Slane Castle. Gates open at 1pm. Traffic restrictions will be in place from 8am on approach routes and diversions will be in place until approximately 2am on Sunday. Patrons are advised to opt for public transport where possible; with services available from Dublin Bus, Bus Éireann and Kelly Travel.
No plans for the weekend then why not head to Hollywood, in Co. Wicklow that is, for the Hollywood Vintage Fair taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Road closures will operate on the Wicklow Gap Rd (R756) from 4:30pm to 9pm on Saturday and from 8am to 9pm on Sunday and delays are likely.
It’s set to be another exciting weekend of GAA action at Croke Park as we approach the final stages of the Hurling Championship. Limerick will play Galway in the minor semi final at 1:30pm and Limerick will play Clare in the senior game at 3:30pm. A full Garda cordon will be in place in the vicinity of the stadium from 11:30am onwards; with stiles opening at 12:30pm. With an expected attendance of 60,000 delays are likely in Drumcondra and in the surrounding area.
All in all, a busy weekend ahead of us and you can keep up to date with the latest traffic news on www.aaroadwatch.ie; or follow @aaroadwatch on Twitter.
