The following terms and conditions apply to the AA Approved Dealers Network that is operated by AA Ireland Limited.
Where you are accessing used car advertisements that appear on the theaa.ie website, the terms of use of the website also apply, which are available here.
The AA Approved Dealers Network is operated by AA Ireland Limited (“we”). We are registered in Ireland under Company Number: 389194. We have our Registered Office at 3rd floor, 80 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, D02 F449. Our VAT Registration Number is: 6409194 V. AA Ireland Limited trading as AA Insurance is regulated by the Financial Regulator.
Dealers who participate in the AA Approved Dealers Network may represent that they are an AA Approved Dealer, or that a vehicle that they have placed for sale is an AA Approved Car. This does not mean that we unequivocally endorse the Dealer or any particular vehicle. Instead it means that the Dealer has confirmed to us that it and the relevant vehicle comply with certain criteria that we have established. We take reasonable steps to check the accuracy of the confirmations that the Dealer has provided to us, but we have not carried out detailed investigations in relation to the Dealer. You should not therefore assume that any information that is provided to us is accurate, or that a Dealer will continue to meet the criteria that we have established on an ongoing basis.
Using an AA Approved Dealer, or purchasing an AA Approved Car, is not a substitute for your own appropriate and careful enquiries. Before purchasing a vehicle you should engage an appropriately qualified independent mechanic or vehicle expert to assess the vehicle. If you decide to purchase a vehicle, you do so at your own risk.
We are not responsible for advertisements for used cars that appear on our website. Advertisements are prepared by AA Approved Dealers, and are not subject to prior checking by us. We do not therefore provide any guarantee or warranty in relation to the accuracy of information that is contained in the advertisements, or in connection with vehicles that are listed on the site.
Where you decide to purchase a vehicle, your contract for the purchase of that vehicle will be between you and the Dealer that has placed the vehicle for sale.
We have developed a 101-Point Inspection that we require Dealers to undertake in respect of any vehicle that is marketed as an AA Approved Car. It is the responsibility of the Dealer to undertake the inspection. Although we undertake periodic audits to confirm that 101-Point Inspections have been carried out appropriately, we do not audit each inspection and cannot therefore guarantee that the inspection has been carried out to the appropriate standard.
The 101-Point Inspection, or the use of the AA Approved Car moniker, is not a substitute for your own inspection of the vehicle. As set out above, we recommend that you engage an appropriately qualified independent mechanic or vehicle expert to assess any vehicle that you intend to purchase. If you decide to purchase a vehicle, you do so at your own risk.
If you have any queries or complaints in relation to a vehicle that you have purchased, please direct those queries or complaints to the Dealer who sold you the vehicle. If you cannot resolve a complaint directly with the Dealer, please let us know and we will use reasonable efforts to try to help you resolve your complaint.
Save to the extent prohibited by law, we shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising out of or in connection with the AA Approved Dealer network or your purchase of an AA Approved Car, whether under theories of contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland.
